KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of fiber route design, network capacity management, and long-range network planning for an assigned area and related works associated with installation removal and rearrangement of outside plant facilities. Connecting wires and cables to terminals and attaching or detaching various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings and poles. Keep reports and records and perform other duties as may be assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Major Responsibilities

  • Leads network design and planning in collaboration with fiber construction teams on proposed fiber network related projects.

  • Develop OSP network planning and structure.

  • Establishes design solutions for network expansion and large or complex customer network designs including to perform site survey and provide Technical Proposal (TP),/ Technical Site Survey Report (TSSR)

  • To create Auto Cad drawing for TP.

  • Cross functional experience in telco especially fiber OSP field

  • To be able for outstation assignments.

  • Use trending information to estimate exhaust timeframes for each of the parameters being tracked

  • Review any capacity exceptions to make a determination/recommendation on the necessary actions to address/mitigate Develop/evaluate network enhancement alternatives and put forth business case recommendations for management

  • Outside Plant detailed (OSP) design of physical fiber optics network based on Access transmission planners requirements for coverage, capacity, and redundancy.

  • Prepares the work package (Scope of work) to share with the implementation team & contractor.

  • Responsible to make sure the physical fiber route is as per equipment topology requirements. (IPRAN, DWDM, FTN, MW)

  • Plans and prepares drawings in Visio/MapInfo/Google earth for implementation of new, and removal or rearrangement of existing, overhead or underground routes, cables, and infra to obtain optimum and economical utilization of communications facilities.

  • Reviews summary sheet for FTTH OSP cabling requirements ensuring FTTH OSP capacities are figured adequately and accurately for the assigned project.

  • Manage the Handover of FTTH OSP systems from the System Integrator and assuring design has been fulfilled and quality required has been achieved.

  • Involve in Technical proposal and Fibre BOM review & approval

  • Database owner for all fibre / FTTH related information

  • Work closely with fibre implementation & migration team to achieve E2E delivery as targeted.

  • FTTH (Fiber to the Home)/GPON Experience.

  • GPON Network capacity/performance monitoring`

 

Job Requirement:

  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Degree in Technical/Engineering

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Fiber OSP works telcoo especially in network design.

  • Strong knowledge of Fiber planning

  • Very Good knowledge and experience in FTTH Design, Fiber design.

  • Can fully utilize planning tools (like MapInfo, Google earth, Visio) knowing all functions in detail

  • Very good knowledge of optical power loss.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work as a part of a Team and lead small projects within area of responsibility

  • Communication: Good communicator

  • The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in engineering.

  • 8-10 plus Year Experience in Fibre Planning & Design, FTTH.

  • Excellent communication skill

  • Performance management & result driven

  • Candidates with TM certificates (NTMSP, AESP, CA1C, CA2C) will give priority

  • Good analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skill.

  • Able to work effectively under pressure and focus in delivering high quality results.

 

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Contract length: 12 months

Salary: RM3,300.00 - RM6,000.00 per month

Education: Diploma/Advanced Diploma (Preferred)

Experience: Fiber OSP works telco: 3 years (Required)

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kuala Lumpur: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
